Jen-ho Fang



Noted mineralogist who provided critical leadership during the Department's transition to a major research program. Chairman of the Department of Geology 1982-1991. Professor of Geology 1982-1997. Assembled a group of outstanding research-oriented faculty. Championed the expansion of a new Ph.D. program in geology. Promoted increased research activities by faculty and students, and facilitated the Department's move into the Bevill Research Building in 1990. Honored by former student as name bearer of the mineral Fangite.
